Christmas Tree Farm family photos at Snyder Christmas Trees in Sherwood, Oregon

Many of you may not be aware that I live on a Christmas tree farm (Snyder Christmas Trees). Every year we open on Black Friday ready and excited for people to drive up our road. The kids and I are outside way too early to start putting out signs and setting up our hot chocolate bar (yes it includes candy canes!) which is completely free, and various other items for sale (wreaths, swags and farm fresh eggs). The excitement that fills our home during this time is something I never want to forget and look forward to every year.

Something else most people who visit our Christmas tree farm are unaware of is that every year in November I offer Christmas Tree Farm Mini Sessions! These 15 minute sessions are so fun and festive, and a great way to get those Christmas card photos taken care of surrounded by beautiful Christmas trees. Bonus - you can order your Christmas cards straight from your own personal gallery… how easy is that?! Below I’m sharing some of my favorite photos of past families who have had their Christmas tree farm photos taken with me- I hope they get you excited for this upcoming holiday season!

What to expect during your photo session at snyder christmas trees

These mini sessions are fun and playful, and often kids are seen running around excitedly looking at what tree they want to pick out for Christmas. You have the option of using props (I have blankets, pillows and an old red wagon), using no props, or if you can’t make up your mind - both! One benefit of owning the venue I’m taking photos at is that I can be flexible with the dates and times that I offer these sessions and there is no additional charge to you for using someone else’s property for your photographs. These sessions are quick (15 minutes) which is the perfect amount of time to get some great photos and build lasting memories with your family. Bonus - pets are welcome and encouraged!

What should I wear to my christmas tree farm photo session?

There are so many fun options when deciding what you wear. Anything from Christmas pajamas to fancy holiday outfits look great! As a general rule, I suggest starting with neutrals and adding pops of color (red and blue, red and green, blue and brown). I personally love creams and blues as they stand out against the green backdrop. Don’t forget accessories! Hats, scarves, gloves - these all add so much personality and charm to photos. You can even bring hot chocolate mugs, Christmas books to read together as a family, blankets to cozy up in - the list is endless.
